If you contribute to EPF, there is good news for you. EPFO has issued instructions to start the process of depositing 8.25% interest in PF accounts for the financial year 2025-26. Soon, interest amount will start appearing in the PF accounts of crores of employees, which will increase the total balance in their accounts. When will interest be deposited in PF account?
EPFO has ordered its field offices to deposit 8.25% interest in the accounts. The interest amount will be updated one by one in different accounts. If you’re not seeing interest on your account right now, there’s no need to panic; It will gradually be deposited in all the accounts.
Check your PF balance in these 4 ways:
1. Visit EPFO website – EPFO Member Passbook website. Log in using your UAN and password. After selecting the member ID, your PF balance and interest information will be visible.
2. Umang App – Open Umang App, select EPFO Services and click on ‘View Passbook’. After logging in with your UAN, you can check your balance.
3. Missed Call – Give a missed call to 9966044425 from your registered mobile number. You will soon get information about PF balance through message.
4. Balance through SMS – If your UAN is active and linked to your Aadhaar, PAN or bank account, send SMS “EPFOHO UAN” to 7738299899 from your registered mobile number. You will get the balance information soon.
Will there be any loss if interest is deposited late?
Even if interest entry is delayed in your PF passbook, you will not suffer any financial loss. EPFO calculates the interest as per the rules and the entire amount is credited to your account.
What to do if interest is not seen? If interest is not updated in your PF account even after some time, first check again through member passbook or Umang app. If needed, you can contact EPFO helpline or visit the nearest office.
