A big issue related to food security has come to light. Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), taking major action on the basis of complaints received on social media, has issued a notice to Nestlé India.
Instructions to remove batch of Maggi from the market
The complaints claimed that insects were found in some packets of Maggi. Taking the matter seriously, FSSAI has ordered investigation of the concerned batch and has also issued instructions to immediately remove that batch from the market. The company has been asked to submit “Action Taken Report” (ATR) in this entire matter as soon as possible.
KFC and other brands also under investigation
Not only Nestle, notice has also been sent to fast-food chain KFC regarding complaints related to cleanliness. Officials say that the complaints received regarding cleanliness standards are being investigated.
Answer sought from Flipkart and Open Secret also
Meanwhile, after a complaint of insects being found in a date product, clarification has also been sought from e-commerce platform Flipkart India and healthy snack brand Open Secret.

FSSAI has made it clear that any compromise with food safety standards will not be tolerated. Further action will be decided after receiving responses from all the companies.
