According to the website of India Bullion and Jewelers Association (IBJA), the price of 24 carat gold stood at Rs 1,29,584 per 10 grams by the market close on Friday. Silver prices also increased to Rs 1,69,230 per kg. Since the markets are closed on Saturday and Sunday, these prices will be valid on both the days. According to All India Bullion Association, gold prices in Delhi rose by Rs 3,200 to hit a new high of Rs 1,34,800 per 10 grams. Silver prices fell by Rs 7,000 to Rs 1,77,000 per kg (including all taxes). Meanwhile, gold prices hit an all-time high of ₹1,32,294 per 10 grams in domestic futures trade. What were the prices of gold and silver last day?
Gold rose by Rs 3,200 to a new high of Rs 1,34,800 per 10 gram in the national capital on Friday due to strong festive buying by jewelers and retailers ahead of Dhanteras, according to All India Bullion Association. However, the price of silver fell by Rs 7,000. In the last session, the price of gold of 99.9 percent purity had closed at Rs 1,31,600 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, gold of 99.5 per cent purity also rose by Rs 3,200 to hit an intraday high of Rs 1,34,200 per 10 grams (including all taxes). On Thursday it had closed at Rs 1,31,000 per 10 grams. However, the price of silver declined. Silver prices fell by Rs 7,000 to Rs 1,77,000 per kg (including all taxes). On Thursday it was Rs 1,84,000 per kg.

Gold and silver prices in global markets
In global markets, spot gold fell Rs 22.39, or 0.52 per cent, to $4,303.73 an ounce on Friday, after hitting a record high of $4,379.29 an ounce in the previous session. Spot silver fell 1.32 percent to $ 53.43 an ounce. It had briefly reached a high of $54.48 an ounce.

Gold futures prices on Friday hit a record high of ₹1,32,294 per 10 grams as speculators made fresh deals amid strong spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold prices for December delivery contracts rose by ₹2,442, or 1.88 per cent, to an all-time high of ₹1,32,294 per 10 grams. Gold contracts for delivery in February 2026 rose ₹2,927, or 2.23 per cent, to an all-time high of ₹1,34,024 per 10 grams.

A rise was also seen in silver. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), silver futures contracts for December delivery rose by ₹2,752, or 1.64 per cent, to hit an all-time high of ₹1,70,415 per kg. Similarly, silver futures contracts for delivery in March 2026 rose by ₹3,274, or 1.93 per cent, to hit an all-time high of ₹1,72,350 per kg.

Global Gold and Silver Futures Prices
Globally, gold and silver prices continued to rise. Gold futures for December delivery on Comex rose 1.65 percent to $ 4,375.69 an ounce. On the other hand, silver rose marginally to $53.38 an ounce.

What do the experts say
Traders said stockists made purchases in anticipation of higher sales during the festive season. Dhanteras is celebrated on Saturday and Diwali is celebrated on the Monday after that. Purchasing precious metals on Dhanteras is considered auspicious. Apart from seasonal demand, safe-haven buying by investors and central banks also strengthened the prices.
