Gold and silver prices fell on July 28. According to India Bullion and Jewelers Association (IBJA), the price of one kg silver fell by ₹6,543 to ₹2.18 lakh. At the same time, the price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold decreased by ₹1,907 to ₹1.43 lakh.

**Gold prices have increased this year**

This year, constant fluctuations have been seen in the prices of gold and silver. So far in 2026, gold has become costlier by ₹ 10,000. The price of 10 grams of gold on December 31, 2025 was more than ₹1.33 lakh; Now it has reached ₹ 1.43 lakh. In contrast, the price of silver has fallen by ₹12,000. The price of silver on December 31, 2025 was ₹2.30 lakh per kg and now it is ₹2.18 lakh. Meanwhile, gold had reached an all-time high of ₹1.76 lakh and silver had reached an all-time high of ₹3.86 lakh on January 29.

**Gold can reach ₹1.60 lakh this year**

According to commodity expert Ajay Kedia, the prices of gold and silver have come down far from their highest levels. Investors can consider investing now, although they should avoid investing large sums at once. Kedia estimates that by the end of the year, gold may once again reach ₹ 1.60 lakh and silver may reach ₹ 2.80 lakh.

Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) are based on the changing prices of gold and silver. Gold ETFs or Silver ETFs can be bought and sold like shares on BSE and NSE.
