Lakhs of central government employees and pensioners are eagerly waiting for the 8th Pay Commission. For this, several important meetings have been scheduled to speed up the drafting and consultation processes. The 8th Pay Commission is scheduled to hold meetings with stakeholders in New Delhi and Pune during the current and coming months. In these sessions, discussions will be held on a wide range of topics with employee unions, organizations and various central government institutions. After these meetings, the Commission will visit other states including Mumbai.
To participate in these meetings, any organization must first take an appointment with the 8th Pay Commission. Apart from this, they have to submit a memorandum containing their suggestions related to the Pay Commission. The Pay Commission itself is actively reaching out to stakeholders to facilitate these meetings. Also, the Commission has announced 20 vacancies for Consultants. This is a full-time position with a salary of up to ₹1.80 lakh per month. Options for part-time roles (6 or 12 working days per month) are also available.*When and where will the meetings take place?

The commission will hold meetings on May 4 and 5 in Pune.

The employee unions are demanding that under the 8th Pay Commission, the ‘fitment factor’ be increased from 2.57 to 3.25, and the minimum wage be increased from ₹18,000 to the range of ₹41,000–₹51,480. These specific issues will be the main focus of discussion during the meetings. To participate in the meetings, please visit the official portal 8cpc.gov.in or Innovate India (MyGov). You can submit your memorandum online through these platforms. Last date of submission is April 30, 2026. After submitting the memorandum, you will also need to schedule an appointment via email to attend the meeting.
