Holi will be celebrated across the country tomorrow, Wednesday, March 4. Holi is also being celebrated on 3 March in many states. Today, Tuesday, the stock market is closed due to Holi and trading will resume tomorrow, March 4. Many people are confused about whether banks will be open or closed tomorrow, Wednesday. According to the RBI list, due to Holi in March, banks will remain closed on different days in different parts of the country.

What does RBI bank holiday list say?

According to the state holiday list of RBI, there will be bank holidays in different states on March 3 and 4. There is a little confusion regarding the date of Holi this year, as some states will celebrate the festival on March 3, while some states will celebrate Holi on March 4. Therefore, banks will remain closed on both days in different states.

Banks will remain closed in these states on March 3
Banks will remain closed in 16 cities and areas on Tuesday, March 3. These include Belapur, Bhopal, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Patna, Ranchi, Thiruvananthapuram and Vijayawada.

Banks will remain closed in these states tomorrow, Wednesday, March 4.

There will be a bank holiday at 18 places on Wednesday, March 4. These include Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Gangtok, Imphal, Itanagar, Jammu, Kanpur, Lucknow, New Delhi, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong and Shimla. This year Holika Dahan will take place on March 3. The auspicious time will be from 6:22 pm to 8:50 pm. The next day, Holi of colors, will be celebrated on March 4. The date of Holi is decided every year according to the Hindu calendar, so there may be a slight difference in the dates in different places.

The second day of Holi is celebrated with different names in different states. In North India it is called Dhuleti or Dhulandi, where people celebrate by applying colors and gulal to each other. In Manipur it is called the second day of Yaosang, a big festival there. On this day children and youth play with colors, cultural programs take place and people mingle. Overall, the second day of Holi is a day of colours, fun and brotherhood.

Banks are usually closed on national and local festivals. Banks remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month and also on all Sundays. However, digital banking services will continue even if bank branches are closed. Customers can transfer money through net banking, mobile banking and UPI. Cash can be withdrawn from ATM.
