If you are planning to go to the bank for some important work, then this news is very important for you. Due to Christmas, banking services in three north-eastern states of the country will be disrupted for about a week. Due to continuous holidays, everyone from common customers to business owners can face problems. Therefore, it is important to plan in advance. Banks in Nagaland, Mizoram and Meghalaya will remain closed for five consecutive days from today. Bank branches in these states will remain closed from December 24 to December 28. This series of holidays is due to Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Christmas Celebration, Second Saturday and Sunday.
Here is the complete list of holidays:
December 24: Christmas Eve
December 25: Christmas
26 December: Christmas Celebration
December 27: Second Saturday
December 28: Sunday
No government or private bank branch will remain open during these five days. This means that all services related to cash deposits, cash withdrawals, check clearing, passbook updates, demand drafts and counter services will remain completely closed. This may be especially inconvenient for merchants, senior citizens and those who still depend on offline banking services.
digital banking services
However, the good news is that digital banking services will continue to operate. Net banking, mobile banking, UPI and ATM services will remain available as usual during the holidays. This means you can conduct online transactions, pay bills, transfer funds and withdraw cash from ATMs. However, please note that in some places there may be some problems due to lack of cash in the ATM.
Banks will remain closed across the country on 25th December
The festival of Christmas is celebrated with great enthusiasm throughout the country, due to which all government and private banks in India will remain closed on 25th December. Banking related counter services will not be available on this day, hence customers are advised to complete their important banking work well in advance.
