Often we do not carefully look at the coins or notes found after shopping from the market. But, with the increasing trend of fake notes, even a little carelessness can prove costly. To protect customers from such frauds, RBI has come up with seven important tips to identify genuine ₹200 notes.
**’200′ written on the left side of the note shines in the light**
The original ₹200 note has a special transparent part on the bottom left side. When you hold the note in front of the light, the digit ‘200’ is clearly visible in this empty space.
**Value written in Devanagari (Hindi) with standard digits**
Another important feature of the original note is that apart from the standard digits, the value of ‘200’ is also clearly printed in Devanagari (Hindi) script. Fake notes often do not have this special printing detail.
**Mahatma Gandhi’s picture is clearly visible in the middle**
The traditional photograph of Mahatma Gandhi is placed exactly in the center of the front side of the note, which looks very clean and clear.
**See Governor’s signature and guarantee clause at right**
At the bottom right of the note, you will see the signature of the RBI Governor, a guarantee clause and the official logo of the RBI.
**Increasing number panels from small to large on both sides**
This is an important security feature of the printing of genuine notes. The numbered panels are at the top-left and bottom-right corners. In these panels, the numbers increase in size as you move from left to right.
**Our national symbol, the ‘Ashoka Pillar’, stands proudly at the bottom right**
₹200 and ₹500 notes have the Ashoka Pillar symbol on the bottom right side. Our national symbol, the Ashoka Pillar, appears on the front side of the note at the bottom right. This symbol is slightly raised, so that it can be felt by touching it. Next time you take a note, be sure to check these 7 things!
