What is Farmer ID?
Farmer ID is actually a digital identity for farmers, which contains almost all the information related to farming. This includes information such as farmer’s land records, crops grown, use of fertilizers and seeds, animal husbandry and income from farming. On the basis of this ID, the government will decide which farmer is eligible for which scheme. The installments of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi will also be linked to this Farmer ID. This will ensure that the right farmer gets money at the right time. This will also eliminate problems like fake registration, duplicate names and false claims. In future, this ID will be the basis of most agricultural schemes.
How to create Farmer ID online?
To create a Farmer ID, the farmer has to visit the Agristack portal of his state. There, they need to click on the “Create New User” option, enter their Aadhaar number and complete the KYC process. After reading and agreeing to the terms and conditions, the form needs to be submitted. Then, verification is done using the OTP received on the mobile number linked to the Aadhaar number.
After this, the mobile number will have to be entered again and confirmed with OTP. Now, create a new password and save it. This will create your user ID. After logging in, select “Owner” in Farmer Type and click on “Get Land Details”. Fill the Khasra number and give complete details of the land.
