Parle's name shines due to the viral video of Modi-Meloni's toffee, shares run at the speed of rocket

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on a tour of Italy. During this visit, he met Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni. Interestingly, PM Modi gifted ‘Melody’ chocolate to Meloni. Now, this “sweet gift” has turned out to be a windfall for the company that makes Melody – and its investors. Here, we are giving you complete information about the rising share price of the company as well as its history.

Parle company shares

Actually, Melody Chocolate is manufactured by a company named ‘Parle Products’; But, shares of ‘Parle Industries Limited’ are rising – just because of the name ‘Parle’. This simple one rupee toffee has done such magic that there has been a huge 5 percent jump in the shares associated with the name Parle. However, the truth is that the company that makes the toffee and the company whose shares are rising are actually two completely different companies.

97 year old company

Parle Products is not a new company; This is a 97 year old company. This company was started by Mohanlal Dayal with the name “House of Parle”. Today, the company has a portfolio of over 21 unique products and operates in over 125 factories across the country. Today, apart from its famous Parle-G biscuits and toffees, the company also sells chocolates, cakes, rusks, snacks, breakfast cereals and flour. Additionally – apart from Parle-G – some of its most famous products include Hide & Seek, Crackjack, Monaco, Kissmi, Melody and Parle Rusk.

Are Parle Industries and Parle Products the same company?

No, they are not one; Parle Industries and Parle Products have nothing to do with each other. Parle Products is a well-known FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) company that manufactures biscuits and toffees like Parle-G, Melody and Monaco. In contrast, Parle Industries is a completely separate company – listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange – and operates in real estate, infrastructure and recycling sectors.
