Petrol Diesel Price Today: Has fuel become cheaper in your city? Check the latest rate update before filling the tank.

Petrol and diesel prices are fluctuating amid the ongoing conflict in Iran and increasing tension around the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, the government has issued an order prohibiting industrial, commercial and institutional users from purchasing petrol and diesel from retail petrol pumps and directed them to meet their fuel requirements from wholesale outlets.

City Petrol Price (per litre) Diesel Price (per litre) Delhi Rs 102.12 Rs 95.20 Mumbai Rs 111.18 Rs 97.83 Kolkata Rs 113.47 Rs 99.82 Chennai Rs 107.77 Rs 99.55 Patna Rs 113.35 Rs 99.36 Ranchi Rs 105.93 Rs 101.06 Jaipur Rs 112.66 Rs 97.78 Bhopal Rs 114.54 Rs 99.64 Port Blair Rs 88.66 Rs 84.56

According to the report, these restrictions will remain in effect for 90 days. The move comes at a time when price differentials have forced wholesale customers to buy fuel from retail pumps, leading to an unusual surge in demand – especially for diesel – in some areas. Diesel price at retail pumps in Delhi is ₹95.20 per litre, while the wholesale price is ₹134.50 per litre.

**Increase in fuel prices**

Due to rising crude oil prices across the world, government retailers have started passing on the increased costs to customers to compensate for their huge losses. As a result, on May 25, oil marketing companies (OMCs) increased the prices of both petrol and diesel by more than ₹2.50 per litre, taking the total increase since May 15 to ₹7.50 per litre. Petrol and diesel prices in India are currently at their highest level in four years. Over the past two years, fuel prices have remained largely stable, except for a cut of ₹2 per liter in March 2024.

**Cheap petrol in Mumbai tomorrow**
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) will provide petrol at subsidized rates to two-wheeler drivers on June 14, the occasion of Raj Thackeray’s 58th birthday, PTI reported. The party has tied up with 36 petrol pumps in the city to provide fuel at concessional rates from 9:00 am on Sunday. However, this initiative of MNS will be applicable only in Mumbai.
