The new year has started, and from farms to villages, the only topic of discussion is when will the next installment of PM Kisan Yojana come. This amount is very important for farmers whose accounts receive Rs 2000 every four months. From fertilizers and seeds to other small and big farming expenses, everything is spent on this money. Therefore, delay in installments causes a lot of concern. This time too lakhs of farmers are waiting for the 22nd installment, and there is a fear that the installment of Rs 2000 may get stuck.
What is PM Kisan Yojana?
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana was launched in February 2019. Under this scheme, eligible farmers get a total of Rs 6000 every year. This money is sent directly to their bank accounts in three installments. They get Rs 2000 every four months, which helps farmers manage their farming and essential household expenses. Till now the government has released 21 installments.
When will the 22nd installment of PM Kisan come?
Now the biggest question is when will the 22nd installment of PM Kisan Yojana come. The government has not yet announced any specific date, but based on past patterns, it is expected that this installment may be released in February 2026. If the four-month gap rule remains as before, the money may be deposited in the accounts by the end of January or between February and March.
Big change in PM Kisan Yojana: E-KYC and farmer ID mandatory
This time a major change has been made in PM Kisan Yojana. Now merely completing e-KYC is not enough. The government has made it clear that the next installment of those farmers who do not have a unique farmer ID can be withheld. Kisan ID is considered to be the digital identity of the farmer, which contains information related to land, farming and income.
Why is Kisan ID important?
The government says that Kisan ID will ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach the right farmers. This will prevent fake names and wrong registration. The 22nd installment of Kisan Samman Nidhi can be withheld for those farmers who have not yet made their Kisan ID. The next installment of money can be stopped even without e-KYC. e-KYC is already mandatory in PM Kisan Yojana. Farmers who have not yet completed e-KYC will not get the next installment. So, if you want to get ₹2000 on time, complete your e-KYC immediately.
Installment can also be stopped due to these mistakes:
Sometimes, money doesn’t stop just because of e-KYC or farmer ID. Mistake in Aadhaar and bank account information, closed bank account, changed IFSC code, or not updating bank KYC can also be major reasons. Even mistakes in land records can make the system show the farmer as ineligible.
Land related issues also become a reason:
If the land records are not updated, mutation is pending, or the land is in dispute, then PM Kisan’s installment can be stopped. In such cases, the farmer should visit his nearest office to get the information corrected.
Which farmers will not get PM Kisan’s money?
Farmers who have not completed e-KYC.
Whose bank account is not linked to Aadhaar.
Those who have not completed the land verification.
Those who have more than two hectares of land.
Pensioners whose monthly pension is more than ₹10,000.
In all these cases, the 22nd installment will not be available.
How to check your name in the beneficiary list?
If you want to know whether your name is in the PM Kisan list or not, you can visit pmkisan.gov.in website and select your state, district, block and village in the beneficiary list and see the report. If your name is in the list, there are high chances of getting the installment.
To get ₹2000, do these important things now:
Last year, in 2025, all three installments of PM Kisan were released on time. The first installment was released in February, the second in August and the third on November 19, 2025. Now all the farmers are waiting for the 22nd installment. If you want the 22nd installment of PM Kisan to be credited to your account without any delay, complete your e-KYC, get your Kisan ID, and update your bank and land related information. If you make even the slightest mistake in following the rules, you may be deprived of the next installment of Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.
