Read this news before going to the bank in June 2026! RBI released the list of holidays, know when the holidays will be.

The month of June is going to start from tomorrow. If you have any important work to do at your bank branch in the next month – like getting a chequebook, updating your passbook, or settling loan related matters – then you should plan your finances in advance. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the official calendar of holidays for June 2026. In the month of June, bank branches across the country will remain closed for a total of 11 days. This complete list of holidays includes regular Sunday holidays as well as second and fourth Saturday holidays. Additionally, bank employees will remain on leave on special occasions such as Muharram and various regional festivals.

** Due to this reason work will remain closed for 11 days **

As per RBI guidelines, bank holidays are divided into three different categories. Apart from national holidays, many holidays are based on specific festivals of the states, which have a direct impact on the customers of those particular regions. A look at the calendar for June 2026 shows that Sunday weekly holidays will fall on the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th. Apart from this, all bank branches across the country will remain closed on June 13 (second Saturday) and June 27 (fourth Saturday). The remaining holidays have been decided on the basis of important local festivals celebrated in different states.

**Digital banking will become a lifeline**
Banks being closed for 11 days does not mean that your daily financial transactions will come to a complete halt. The Reserve Bank has made it clear that even if the branches are closed, digital services will remain operational round the clock for the convenience of customers. You will be able to use features like UPI, net banking, mobile banking apps and ATM without any interruption. As a result, you won’t face any hassles in transferring money or paying bills. However, the best option is to settle those tasks in advance which can be completed only by visiting the bank branch.
