The accused, who brutally murdered three people in a moving train and a hospital in Uttar Pradesh, was killed by the police in an encounter late on Monday night. This action was taken by Chandauli Police, in which the accused had tried to escape from police custody.

According to Chandauli SP Akash Patel, the accused was taken to the spot for crime scene recreation. Meanwhile, he suddenly snatched the police officer’s pistol and tried to run away while firing.

Police retaliated in encounter

According to the police, the security forces retaliated after the accused opened fire. During this, he was shot in the head and chest. He was immediately taken to the district hospital in critical condition, where he died during treatment.

Who was the accused?

The deceased accused has been identified as 45-year-old Gurpreet Singh. According to the police, he had killed three different people in Chandauli within just 26 hours. All the murders were committed without any apparent reason, leading the police to classify him as a psycho killer.

Murders committed in the same pattern

Investigation has revealed that the method of all three incidents was similar. In all cases the accused shot the victims at close range and the bullet was fired directly at the temple (side of the forehead). This pattern had indicated to the police the seriousness of the case from the very beginning.

Police investigation and security arrangements

Police officials said that the activities of the accused were extremely unusual and violent, due to which a special team was formed to nab him. At present, the investigation of the entire case is going on and it is also being found out why the accused committed these murders and whether there was any mental illness or other reason behind it.

Panic in the area, police alert

There is an atmosphere of panic in the area after this incident. Police have increased security arrangements and have appealed to people not to pay attention to rumours.
