Share Market Closing: After ups and downs, the market closed in the red, huge fall in shares of 16 companies.

The Indian stock market again closed with a decline today. On Monday, the first day of the week, the BSE Sensex fell 54.30 points (0.06%) to close at 85,213.36. Similarly, the NSE Nifty 50 index also fell 19.65 points (0.08 per cent) to close at 26,027.30. It is worth noting that last Friday the market had closed with gains. However, the market closed lower following losses in early sessions last week.

16 out of 30 Sensex companies closed with a decline.
On Monday, out of 30 Sensex companies, only 14 companies closed in the green with gains, while the remaining 16 companies closed in the red with losses. Similarly, out of 50 companies of Nifty 50, only 22 companies closed in the green with gains, while 27 companies closed in the red with decline, and there was no change in the share of one company. Among Sensex companies, Hindustan Unilever shares closed with the biggest gain of 1.37 per cent, while Mahindra & Mahindra shares closed with the biggest fall of 1.92 per cent.

Among other Sensex companies, shares of Trent 1.11 per cent, HCL Tech 0.68 per cent, Infosys 0.57 per cent, Asian Paints 0.53 per cent, Tata Steel 0.52 per cent, TCS 0.42 per cent, L&T 0.40 per cent, Kotak Mahindra Bank 0.37 per cent, ITC 0.37 per cent, State Bank of India 0.33 per cent, BEL 0.28 per cent, Shares of Eternal closed 0.08 percent higher, and Reliance Industries gained 0.02 percent. On the other hand, on Monday, shares of Maruti Suzuki fell 0.89 percent, Adani Ports 0.81 percent, Bajaj Finserv 0.75 percent, Titan 0.64 percent, HDFC Bank 0.56 percent, Bharti Airtel 0.54 percent, Bajaj Finance 0.53 percent, Power Grid 0.53 percent, NTPC 0.37 percent, Tata Motors Passenger Shares of Vehicles closed down by 0.30 per cent, UltraTech Cement by 0.25 per cent, Tech Mahindra by 0.15 per cent, ICICI Bank by 0.11 per cent, Axis Bank by 0.10 per cent and Sun Pharma by 0.01 per cent.
