The domestic stock market opened strongly on Thursday, the fourth trading day of the week. The 30-share BSE Sensex rose 200 points or 0.27% to 82,418 in early trade. Nifty was trading at 25,537, up 70 points or 0.31%.
GIFT Nifty also showed signs of early gains, trading near 25,645. Investors will keep an eye on other Asian markets and Wall Street during today’s trading. Changes in the prices of rupee, crude oil and other commodities can also have an impact on the market.
Asian market situation
Asian markets opened higher on Thursday, mirroring Wall Street’s overnight gains. Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 1.1% to a record high of 59,199.31. Meanwhile, the Topix index rose 1.45 percent. South Korea’s Kospi rose 1.65 percent and Kosdaq rose 0.57 percent. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 also rose 0.8 percent.
