After opening with strong gains, Bombay Stock Exchange’s 30-share Sensex closed at a new peak up 1,263 points, while National Stock Exchange’s Nifty ended the session up 388 points. Amid this market rally, investors made more than ₹9 lakh crore in one go. Meanwhile, shares ranging from IndiGo to Adani Ports soared at rocket-like speed.

Sensex and Nifty kept rising throughout the day
After a bullish start to trading, both the Sensex and Nifty indices were seen rising throughout the day. The BSE Sensex opened at 77,981—significantly higher than its previous close of 76,847—and closed at 78,111, a gain of 1,263 points. NSE Nifty also moved along with Sensex; After opening at 24,163—higher than its previous close of 23,842—it closed the trading session at 24,231, registering a gain of 388 points.

Investors made huge profits
Amidst the strong rise in the stock market, investors made huge profits. The total market capitalization of companies listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE Market Cap) on the last trading day—Monday—was ₹4,49,13,555.17 crore; Due to Wednesday’s surge, the figure rose to ₹4,58,46,763.05 crore. Accordingly, investors made a whopping Rs 9.33 lakh crore in a single day.
