There was a strong rise in the domestic stock market for the second consecutive day today. The market started with a heavy fall on Tuesday; However, buying picked up pace after 1:30 pm and the market gained momentum after that. On Tuesday—the second trading day of the week—the BSE Sensex closed at 74,616.58 points, registering a rise of 509.73 points (0.69 percent).
Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty 50 index also closed at 22,968.25, up 155.40 points (0.68 per cent) today. It is worth noting that on Monday also the market started with a decline, but in the end it closed with a significant gain. On Tuesday, out of 30 companies listed in Sensex, shares of 20 companies closed in the green mark (with a rise), while the shares of the remaining 10 companies closed in the red mark (with a fall).
Similarly, out of 50 companies included in Nifty 50, shares of 35 companies closed up in the green mark, while shares of the remaining 15 companies closed down in the red mark. Among the Sensex listed companies, shares of HCL Tech registered the biggest gain today, closing 2.77 percent higher. In sharp contrast, the biggest decline was seen in the shares of the country’s largest airline IndiGo, which closed down 0.87 percent.
