Domestic stock markets closed with a decline on Thursday. However, IT stocks once again saw a big fall. The BSE Sensex fell 150.63 points (0.20%) to 73,832.55, while the NSE Nifty 50 index fell 53.35 points (0.23%) to 23,161.60. The special thing is that the markets opened with a decline; Sensex opened 367.19 points (0.50%) lower at 73,615.99 and Nifty fell 110.55 points (0.48%) at 23,104.40. During the trading session, the Sensex briefly rose as high as 74,394.34 points. Similarly, Nifty also saw a slight rise and reached the level of 23,327.45.
Big fall in Infosys shares
On Thursday, out of 30 Sensex companies, only 9 companies closed with gains, while the remaining 21 companies closed with decline. Similarly, out of 50 Nifty companies, only 18 companies closed with profit, while the remaining 32 companies closed with loss. Among the Sensex companies, shares of automobile sector giant Mahindra & Mahindra saw the biggest rise and closed 1.67% higher. In contrast, shares of IT major Infosys witnessed the biggest decline and closed down 2.71%. Among Sensex companies, shares of ICICI Bank (1.64%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (1.11%), Sun Pharma (0.65%), Bharti Airtel (0.60%), Maruti Suzuki (0.31%), Reliance Industries (0.24%), Axis Bank (0.22%) and NTPC (0.11%) closed with gains.
Sensex shares which caused loss to investors
On the other hand, HCL Tech (down 1.95%), Adani Ports (1.83%), Bajaj Finance (1.56%), Eicher Motors (1.50%), BEL (1.49%), L&T (1.48%), Hindustan Unilever (1.40%), Trent (1.16%), Asian Paints (1.10%), Indigo (0.98%), Bajaj Finserv (0.90%), TCS (0.78%), Tech Mahindra (0.67%), Tata Steel (0.53%), ITC (0.51%), HDFC Bank (0.32%), SBI (0.26%), Power Grid (0.21%), Titan (0.14%) and UltraTech Cement (0.11%) closed with losses.
