The Indian stock market started the first trading session of the week on Monday, October 27 with a positive trend. Both the major indices opened in the green. The 30-share BSE Sensex closed 85.51 points or 0.10 per cent higher at 84,297.39. NSE Nifty 50 also opened in the green and closed at 25,843.20 with a gain of 48.05 points or 0.19 per cent. As of 9:25 am, the Sensex was trading at 84,472, up 261 points. Nifty 50 was trading at 25,872 with a gain of 77 points.

On Friday, October 24, in the last trading session of the week, the Indian stock market witnessed a sharp decline with both the major indices closing in the red. The Sensex fell 344.52 points or 0.41 per cent to 84,211.88, while the NSE Nifty 50 fell 96.25 points or 0.37 per cent to 25,795.15.
Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Sun Pharma, ITC and Tata Steel were the biggest gainers in the BSE basket. Hindustan Unilever, UltraTech Cement, Kotak Bank, Adani Ports and Titan were the biggest losers. Nifty Bank, Nifty 100, Nifty FMCG, Nifty Midcap, Nifty Smallcap, Nifty Auto and Nifty IT closed in the red.
