Due to the ongoing tension between America and Iran, people in India are also facing inflation. In recent times, the prices of petrol and diesel as well as commercial and LPG gas cylinders have increased. This trend of inflation has not stopped here; Rather, there is a possibility of further increase in prices in the coming time. The government has confirmed that domestic LPG cylinder prices will soon increase.
**Government statement**
Recently, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi said that the prices of petrol and diesel may increase in future. He said, “We also feel sad and troubled by the increase in gas cylinder prices. But, before criticizing it, people should understand the current global situation. The whole world is currently facing many serious crises.” He further said, “Global freight movement and supply (transshipment) is being impacted. LPG is now available from very few sources. As a result, there is increasing pressure on supply and prices.”
**Concern of the common man**
Taking his point forward, he said, “The cost of transportation has increased significantly. The base cost of gas is also high. Apart from this, it is taking 40-45 days to transport goods from one place to another, due to which the cost of insurance has increased. We are equally concerned about the problems of the common man, but in the current situation, increase in gas prices has become inevitable.”
**Recent Increase**
It is noteworthy that recently on Sunday, June 7, the prices of domestic LPG cylinders were increased. After the increase of ₹29 per cylinder, the price of a 14.2 kg cylinder in Delhi now stands at ₹942. Earlier, the prices of commercial gas cylinders were also increased, due to which traders and people associated with food business were worried.
