Just imagine: you suddenly need money, you go to any nearby ATM and withdraw money directly from your PF (Provident Fund) account. Under “EPFO 3.0”, it sounds like a movie plot, but it is soon going to become a reality. EPFO is preparing to completely overhaul its digital infrastructure; This is a step that will make withdrawing money from PF as easy as withdrawing money from a normal bank account.
Expecting good news by the end of May
According to sources, this new facility of withdrawing money from ATM and UPI of EPFO can be started by the end of May 2026. This initiative is part of the “EPFO 3.0” project, which aims to make all PF related work completely paperless and user-friendly by mid-2026.

EPFO is planning to issue special ATM cards to its subscribers. This card will be directly linked to your PF account.
How much money can you withdraw?

Additionally, your KYC (Know Your Customer) information must be complete – that is, your bank account, IFSC code and PAN card must be linked to your account. Your Aadhaar card should also be linked to your UAN.
New record in claim settlement
According to Union Labor and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, EPFO settled a record 8.31 crore claims during the financial year 2025-26. Of these, about 5.51 crore claims were for advance or partial withdrawal. What is special is that more than 71% of these advance claims were settled in just three days using the “Auto Mode” feature.
