1. Change in prices of LPG cylinder
Oil marketing companies change the prices of LPG cylinders on the first date of every month. This time too, the prices of LPG cylinders may change on 1 October. In the last few months, the prices of 19 kg gas cylinders have fluctuated, but the 14 kg domestic LPG cylinder prices have long been stable. Its price was last increased on 8 April 2025 in major cities of the country including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.
2. Railway new rules of online ticket booking
Railways have taken a new step to prevent fraud in ticket booking. From October 1, 2025, only those passengers will be able to book tickets online 15 minutes before the reservation opens, whose Aadhaar verification will have been completed. This rule will apply to both IRCTC website and app.
3. Changes in pension rules
The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority has amended the fees charged by Central Record Kepping Agencies, which will be effective from October 1, 2025. Subsequently, for opening a new Pran for government employees, a fee of Rs 18 will be charged for E-PRAN kit and Rs 40 for physical Pran card.
4. Changes in UPI features
The National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) can remove Peer-to-Pier (P2P) transactions from the most commonly used UPI facilities. The move aims to increase user security and prevent financial fraud. This change will be effective from 1 October 2025.
5. Bumper holidays in banks
There are many festivals in the month of October and in such a situation, if you have any necessary work related to the bank, then first of all, leave the house on seeing the October Bank Holiday list issued by the Reserve Bank of India. This month will begin with the holiday of Durga Puja and then the whole month, there are a total of 21 holidays including Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, Dussehra, Lakshmi Puja, Maharishi Balmiki Jayanti, Karva Chauth, Diwali, Govardhan Puja, Bhaiduj and Chhath Puja.
