The stock market is in a negative mood at present. The market remained in the red for the second consecutive day on Tuesday. Nifty fell 82 points to close at 25,145. The market environment is mixed, with increasing activism by foreign institutional investors (FIIs) regarding the trade agreement between the US and China. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 202 points, while the Nasdaq fell 172 points, amid heavy volatility due to Trump’s threats to China. Yesterday was the weekly expiry. SGX Nifty is up 90 points today, indicating an improvement in the market.
Financial investors sold over ₹7,000 crore yesterday, including cash, indices and futures. In the cash market, foreign investors sold ₹1,508 crore, while domestic institutional investors bought ₹3,661 crore.
