Lakhs of farmers across the country have been receiving financial assistance for years through the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana). The scheme, launched by the government in 2019, aims to provide annual financial assistance to small and marginal farmers. Under this scheme, an installment of ₹6,000 is transferred to the bank accounts of farmers every year.
Recently, the Central Government released the 20th installment of this scheme on August 2. Subsequently, the 21st installment was also announced, but currently it has been transferred only to the accounts of 27 lakh flood affected farmers of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The remaining farmers are confused about when their 21st installment will be released and who will get its benefit. According to media reports, the government may release the 21st installment of PM Kisan Yojana by November next year. It was also said in many media reports that the installment would be released before Diwali, but this did not happen. The government has not yet made any official announcement in this regard.
Which farmers will benefit from the 21st installment?
Under this scheme, farmers who have completed their e-KYC and land record verification will get the full benefit of the 21st installment. However, farmers who have not completed this mandatory process will not get the next instalment. Moreover, farmers who have entered the correct details while applying for the scheme will receive the funds in their bank accounts on time. However, farmers who have entered incorrect details or made mistakes in the form may have their application rejected. As a result, such farmers will not get the 21st instalment.
Why is e-KYC and details verification important?
To avail the benefits of this scheme, farmers should get their e-KYC and land records verified as soon as possible. If farmers have entered wrong details, they should get it corrected immediately. Only farmers with correct and verified information will be eligible for the next instalment. Through this scheme, the Central Government has not only provided financial assistance but has also tried to bring stability and self-reliance in the lives of farmers. For years, small and marginal farmers were struggling to meet their farming expenses. PM Kisan Yojana has provided relief to them by giving them a subsidy of ₹6,000 annually.
How to check whether the installment has arrived or not?
Farmers can easily check the status of their next installment online by visiting PM Kisan Portal. After logging in, farmers will be able to see whether their application is valid or not and whether the installment has been released or not. Farmers can also check and update their e-KYC, land records and bank details through the portal. This will avoid any problems in the future and ensure that each installment is deposited into their account on time.
