The country’s richest man Mukesh Ambani’s luxurious house Antilia in Mumbai is known for its grandeur as well as its highly tight security arrangements. Following the incident of explosives in a vehicle outside Antilia in 2021, the name of a special group handling the security system of this building came into the limelight.

The Elite Protection Group (EPG) handles the responsibility of protecting Antilia. This EPG is actually a special wing of Reliance Company’s Global Corporate Security (GCS), which includes specially trained commando -level professional security personalities.

EPG: Ambani’s Personal Commando Wing

The discussion of EPG intensified when 20 gelatin rods and a threatening letter were found in a Scorpio car outside Mukesh Ambani’s residence on 25 February 2021. The statement of the man was recorded in the NIA charge sheet who first saw the ‘suspect’ Scorpio. This man was the Chief of GCS at that time. According to EPG Chief’s statement, Antilia’s security arrangements handle a special wing Elite Protection Group (EPG) of GCS. Number of security personnel: It consists of about 300 professional and trend security personnel. Safety nature: In this way the security of Mukesh Ambani’s house is in the hands of his own personal security company’s extreme and trend commandos, who have experience of SPG (Special Protection Group) level.

EPG structure and training

EPG is mainly divided into two teams:

Complex Security Team: This team consists of more than 150 personnel, most of which are ex -servicemen. They are dedicated to the protection of the antilia complex.

Individual Security Team: The second team consists of more than 100 security personalities, most of which are from former SPG (or equivalent specific units). They are deployed in personal security of Ambani family members.

All security work in personal shifts. At any time, about 50 to 60 security personnel are on duty on the premises and for family members. The EPG consists of most retired military and paramilitary personnel. These personnel are given special and strict training by experts from Israel and USA.
