This year, the Kanwar Yatra is going to start from 22 July and will end on 19 August. But before the start of the Kanwar Yatra, the Yogi government has issued an order that the owners of all the shops, hotels and dhabas on the Kanwar route will have to put their name plates outside. Earlier this order was only for Muzaffarnagar but later it was issued for the Kanwar route of the entire state. Now Union Minister Chirag Paswan has given his statement on this matter. Let us tell you what he has said.

What did Chirag Paswan say?

Chirag Paswan, a central minister and president of BJP’s ally party LJP (Ram Vilas), has opposed the Muzaffarpur police’s order regarding nameplates. Opposing this order, he said that he will not support discrimination in the name of caste or religion. Chirag Paswan said, ‘I am an educated youth of the 21st century and my fight is against casteism and communalism. In such a situation, I have the courage to stand on the stage of Bihar and say this. I do not believe in this, so wherever such divisions are in the name of caste or religion, I do not support it at all and neither do I want to promote it.

KC Tyagi also protested

In this matter, not only Chirag Paswan but also senior leader of BJP’s ally JDU, KC Tyagi has opposed this order. He said, ‘No such law has ever come into existence before this. Kanwar Yatra is not only held in UP but also in Bihar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. Our Bihar is such an example of goodwill in the country that the Muslim people set up shops from Bhagalpur to Dham and Hindus and Muslims together welcome and honour the Kanwariyas. This is divisive, it smells of division. The Uttar Pradesh government is sensitive and I want it to reconsider this.’
