CBSE Refund: Big relief to 12th class students: No need to apply again for scanned copy of answer sheets, refund will be returned to the same account.

CBSE News: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Sunday announced that the board will refund the entire amount to the students from whom excess fees were deducted due to technical glitches in the re-evaluation process after the class 12th results.

The move comes a day after Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan sought a detailed report from CBSE on the problems faced by students. The Education Minister had taken the problems of server down and payment gateway issues very seriously.

According to the notice issued by CBSE, due to technical glitches that occurred on May 21 and 22, fees were deducted incorrectly when students were applying for the scanned copies of their verified answer sheets.

The board has clarified that in some cases more money was deducted than the fixed fees, while in some cases less amount was deducted. Students whose accounts have been debited in excess amount will be refunded without any additional process in the same payment mode through which the fees were paid.

The board has clarified that in cases where less fee has been deducted due to technical error, those students will be informed separately to pay the remaining amount. However, due to this discrepancy in fees, the application of any student will not be rejected. Scanned copies of answer sheets will be made available to the affected students in due course of time and there is no need for them to apply afresh for the same.

According to CBSE, this temporary problem had arisen due to sudden increase in traffic on the portal, which has now been completely rectified. The board has appealed to the parents and students not to get worried and said that the purpose of this system is to resolve the concerns of the students with complete transparency and fairness.
