Following the paper leak incident, the re-examination of NEET UG 2026 was conducted on Sunday (June 21), in which more than 20 lakh students appeared. However, attempts to create irregularities continued even during this re-examination. A ‘solver gang’ involved in cheating in NEET exam was busted in Lakhisarai, Bihar and nine accused were arrested.
According to reports, people like doctors and medical students were deployed to take the exam in place of real candidates. The accused were caught during biometric verification: seven from Kendriya Vidyalaya, one from KRK High School and one from Hasanpur High School.
**Seven employees of the private agency handling biometrics work also arrested**
The arrested ‘solvers’ are from different districts and states, including MBBS students from renowned medical colleges. Considering the seriousness of the matter, seven employees of the private agency recording biometric attendance have also been detained and the police are closely interrogating them.
At present, a team of SDM and SDPO under the supervision of District Magistrate Shailendra Kumar and SP Prerna Kumar is searching for the remaining members of this inter-district and inter-state solver gang.
