Goa may soon have a new Agriculture and Horticulture University. According to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, efforts have been started to establish Agriculture University in the state. He has said, by June 2022, a new agricultural college will be established under Goa University.
The Chief Minister also said that Dr. Balasaheb Sawant would sign an MoU with Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli for setting up the State University.
The new Agriculture College will be part of Goa University. With the steps towards its establishment beginning, the Chief Minister of the coastal state has said that the college will be ready by June.
The Chief Minister said, “Many students of Goa are pursuing education in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry and other Agriculture related subjects in various Universities across the country. Keeping this in mind, we are going to start an Agriculture College in Goa under Goa Universities. are planning.”
Let us tell you, during the 24th National Conference on Agricultural Economics in Old Goa, there was a discussion regarding the construction of the College of Agriculture.
The Chief Minister also discussed the establishment of an Agriculture University in the State. Goa CM Pramod Sawant also held a meeting with the representatives of Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli, who heads the ICAR-CCARI and Goa Agriculture Directorate, to discuss the structure of the new institute.
