Vice President Venkaiah Naidu arrived at Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya in Hardwar in Uttarakhand on Saturday and inaugurated the newly established South Asian Institute of Peace and Reconciliation and said mother tongue should be used in official work. The Vice President also inspected Asia’s first Baltic Center today. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Naidu said that our ancient Vedic culture and mother tongue should be propagated and the new generation should not deviate from their traditions and roots.
The Vice President said that education raises the standard of living of a person and it contributes a lot to identify oneself and be successful in life. The Vice President said that the new education policy lays more emphasis on promotion of mother tongue, whereas Macaulay’s education is seen to dominate the education system implemented in India since independence. It was removing us from our culture and traditions, now removing these discrepancies in the new education system, students have been given the facility to recognize their culture and heritage as well as study in their mother tongue.
Emphasizing on the use of mother tongue in official work and also in common practice, Vice President Naidu said that it should be used more and more in administrative work and judicial work also. He said that along with recognizing the mother tongue, our culture and heritage, the new generation should be connected with nature only by connecting with nature, we can raise a healthy mindset and a high standard of living. Giving the example of the corona epidemic, he said that its effect was more in those areas where there was less greenery in cities and the population was very dense, whereas where the density of trees and plants was very less, the effect of this disease was seen less. Environment and nature also have a great influence on our lives. He said that India’s relations with Asian countries were very good in ancient times and there was a lot of influence of Indian culture there.
Appreciating the initiative taken by Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya in this regard, the Vice President said that many works are being done here to promote Vedic education, Yoga and Ayurveda, so that along with the development of the overall personality of the students, they get good education. And he is recognizing himself and becoming a good person which is a very good aspect for him and the future of the country. The Vice President inaugurated the Shaurya Wall in the university campus and worshiped Mahakal, he also planted a tree. State Governor Gurmeet Singh also addressed the gathering on the occasion. Chinmay Pandya, Vice Chancellor, Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya received the Vice President and welcomed him with a memento.
