NEET-UG exam now in online mode: Big decision after paper leak, know in exclusive footage, new system will be implemented from next session

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has made a big announcement regarding NEET-UG examination on Friday. He informed that from the next session the NEET-UG examination will be conducted in online mode. This decision has been taken with the aim of increasing transparency in the examination process and preventing incidents like paper leaks.

The minister admitted that a serious problem of paper leak had come to light during the NEET-UG 2026 examination held on May 3. He said that the government did not want any wrong candidates to proceed in the selection process, hence it was decided to cancel the examination responsibly.

It is noteworthy that on May 3, this examination was conducted in 551 cities of the country and 14 cities of foreign countries. For this, more than 5400 examination centers were made, in which about 22.79 lakh students appeared. This examination is considered one of the biggest competitive examinations in the country for medical admission.

The government has now also clarified that the re-conducted examination will be conducted on June 21 (Sunday). Many relief decisions have also been taken for the students appearing in this examination. According to the Education Minister, no examination fee will be charged from the candidates again and the fees deposited earlier will be refunded.

Dharmendra Pradhan said that the government is continuously working towards improving the examination system and new steps are being taken at the technical and administrative level to prevent any further irregularities. He also assured that no additional financial burden will be imposed on the students.

After the implementation of the online examination system, it is expected that the examination process will be more secure, transparent and faster. However, there may be mixed reactions among students and education experts regarding this change, because till now a big examination like NEET in the country has been conducted in offline mode only.

At present, everyone’s eyes are on the re-examination to be held on June 21 and the new online system to be implemented from the upcoming session, which can prove to be a major change in the medical entrance examination system of the country.
