Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for developing a hybrid system of online and offline learning to protect school children from excessive exposure to technology. He said that the National Policy on Education (NEP) 2020 is being implemented with the objectives of accessibility, inclusivity and quality. The PM suggested that secondary schools with science laboratories should connect with farmers of the area for soil testing. It was informed in the meeting that the National Curriculum Framework is being prepared under the guidance of the National Steering Committee. With the registration of 400 higher educational institutions with the Academic Bank of Credit, admission and exit in multiple disciplines in higher education has become a reality. As per the UGC guidelines, students have been allowed to pursue two academic programs simultaneously. The students have been given the option of multiple entry and exit. Under this, 59 higher educational institutions are offering 351 fully online programs.
Also 86 higher education institutions are offering 1081 ODL programmes.
The permissible limit of online content in one program has been increased to 40.
