NMMS Exam 2025-26: Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has extended the last date to apply online for National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMS) Exam 2025-26.
Now eligible students can apply till 02 February 2026. The Council has taken this decision so that no eligible student is deprived of this important scholarship scheme.
Reason for extending the application date
It was told by JAC that during the review of district wise online report, it came to light that the expected number of applications had not been received from many districts.
NMMS scheme is considered very important for bright and economically weak students. For this reason, in order to provide equal opportunity to all the students, it was decided to extend the last date of application.
Instructions given to schools and officials
The Council has directed all regional joint directors of education, district education officers, principals of government and non-government aided schools to give complete information about this to the students studying in class 8.
Also ensure that eligible students can complete the online application process on time.
Emphasis on ensuring district wise application
JAC has clarified that all the District Education Officers should ensure that eligible students apply in proportion to the seats allotted in their respective districts.
For this, it has been asked to motivate and guide the students at the school level, so that more and more students can take advantage of this scheme.
Appeal to apply on time
Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has appealed to the students and school administration to complete the application process as soon as possible without waiting for the last date.
The Council believes that due to timely application, students will not face any problem in availing scholarship in future.

NMMS exam is a golden opportunity for those students who are good in studies but feel difficulty in further studies due to financial problems.
Therefore, all eligible students must take full advantage of this opportunity and apply within the stipulated time limit.
