After the cancellation of the NEET exam held on May 3, the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced that it will refund the fees to all students. This relief step was taken after the paper leak incident; However, despite being asked to update bank details, half the students are yet to do so. NTA is now giving one last chance to the students, in which they will have to submit their details by July 7; Failure to do so will not result in fee refund.

**NTA announces deadline**

In a social media post, NTA said that the refund process has started for those who have updated their bank details – meaning the fees are being sent back to their accounts. If you have not updated your bank details yet, you can complete this process till July 7.

**Only a few students have updated their details**

More than 22 lakh students had appeared in the preliminary NEET examination held on May 3. Although all of them had paid the required fees as per their respective categories, less than half of the students have applied for refund so far. According to the data released by NTA, till now only 8,29,510 students have updated their bank details, while there are around 14 lakh students who have not yet completed the refund process. These students have just one day left; If they are not able to submit their information by July 7, they will not get a fee refund.

**What is the fee refund process?**
First of all, visit the official website of NEET, neet.nta.nic.in.
On the homepage, click on the link “Last chance to confirm/update bank account details for NEET (UG) 2026 fee refund (examination held on 03 May 2026)”.
Next, log in using the required credentials.
Once the candidate dashboard opens, you will have to verify your bank account details.
Check all information carefully before submitting.

Option to upload canceled check
NTA has given the candidates the option to upload canceled checks to verify their bank account so that the bank account number and IFSC code matches correctly. NTA has clarified that only the bank details submitted after the completion of the authentication process will be considered final.
