Raipur, According to the decision of the state government, kindergarten is to be conducted in 6 thousand 536 government primary schools for the children of age group 5 to 6 in the state from the coming session. The Standard Operating Procedure for Kindergarten has been issued by the Department of School Education. Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Dr. Alok Shukla has instructed all the district collectors to ensure necessary action as per the standard operating procedure of kindergarten.
In the standard operating procedure issued to the collectors, it has been said that there is rapid physical and mental development in early childhood. This is the best time for children to learn. Learning is very simple and easy for children till the age of 6 years. What is taught at this age, the child is able to get further education from the same basic world. Keeping these facts in mind, the state government has decided to run kindergarten along with 6 thousand 536 primary schools in the first phase. In this kindergarten, children of 5-6 age group are to be provided with an opportunity to learn and teach in a joyful environment.
In the first phase, 6 thousand 536 primary schools have been identified in the premises of which Anganwadi centers are operated or are located nearby, the kindergarten is to be conducted by establishing coordination in those schools. After getting the list of these identified schools from the District Mission Coordinator, Samagra Shiksha, make necessary preparations for running the kindergarten from the coming session.
Collectors have been directed that teachers and Anganwadi workers should be identified for running the kindergarten. The teaching-training work in the kindergarten centers is to be done jointly by the Anganwadi and the teacher. For this, the workers and teachers, as far as possible, the women should be identified. A room should be marked for children to sit in the school premises. Necessary furnishings should be made according to small children. Arrangements should be made for rugs etc. for the children to sit. According to the age of small children, arrangements for drinking water and toilets should also be made near the marked room. In coordination with the Women and Child Development Department, the boys and girls of the village, ward in which the kindergarten is to be conducted, should be operated.
The collectors have been asked to form a committee of parents and mothers of the children to be admitted to the kindergarten, which should provide necessary support in the operation of the kindergarten. By attending the kindergarten from time to time, he could also provide his participation in the educational activities of the children. For this, a meeting should be taken by the head reader of the primary school in the village, ward, along with the sarpanch, ward councilor, panch, before the operation of the kindergarten. Wide publicity should be given to this important scheme, so that more and more children of the appropriate age group can be enrolled in kindergarten.
The suitable curriculum for Kindergarten is being decided through the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT). The selected teachers and Anganwadi workers will be given proper training. This training is proposed to be given through SCERT.
Efforts should also be made to arrange indoor-outdoor play materials, various types of educational materials, poster-charts, color drawing sheets, etc., with community cooperation, to prepare attractive kindergarten centers for children.
