Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had announced the recruitment to fill the vacant posts of Home Guard a few days ago. Now there has been a new meeting regarding this recruitment in which changes have been discussed in educational qualification, age, physical testing etc. Information about new changes has been sent to the government. In such a situation, it is expected that soon the application process can be started by issuing notification for home guard recruitment in the state.
Recruitment will be done in two phases
Preparations are being made to recruit home guards in two phases. 22 thousand home guards will be recruited in both stages. The recruitment of home guards will be similar to the recruitment of constables. First candidates will have to pass the written examination. After that they have to participate in a physical test.
This change is happening in educational qualification
First, it was mandatory for the candidates to pass 10th standard to apply for the posts of UP Home Guard. But now under the new rules, it will be mandatory for the candidate to have minimum intermediate (12th pass) for this post.
Age change too
Along with educational qualifications, the age limit is also being changed. Earlier, the maximum age limit for this recruitment was 45 years, but now candidates above 30 years of age will not be eligible for this recruitment.
Physical test
Candidates who have passed the written examination will have to appear in the physical test. In physical examination, candidates will now have to run 4.8 km in 25 minutes, while women candidates will have to run 2.4 km in 14 minutes.
In a high-level meeting held last month, the Chief Minister appreciated the role of home guards volunteers under law and order, traffic control and disaster situations. Officials said that currently 71,155 home guards are employed against 1,18,348 sanctioned posts. About 38,000 volunteers will retire in the next ten years. More than 51 percent of volunteers above the age of fifty are employed in the current force. The Chief Minister said that the youth need to be given more opportunities for home guards. He instructed the officials to prepare a new registration system soon.
