Jamshedpur: There was a huge uproar at the Graduate College Examination Center in Jamshedpur on Sunday during the B.Ed, M.Ed and B.P.Ed joint entrance competitive examination. When many candidates who had come to appear for the examination were not given entry into the centre, they protested outside the centre. During this, some students climbed the gate and started demanding inclusion in the examination.
Candidates say that the reporting time for the exam was scheduled at 10:15 am, whereas the exam was to start at 10:30 am. They allege that they had reached the center before the commencement of the examination, but were not allowed inside as the process of checking and document verification at the entrance took a long time.
The students alleged that some candidates were allowed to enter the examination center till the last moment, while many other students were stopped outside the gate. There was anger among the candidates regarding this and they started raising slogans against the center management.
The protesting students say that even though they had arrived late by a few minutes, they were present at the center campus before the commencement of the examination. Despite this he was not given the opportunity to take the examination. He says that one of his academic years may be affected due to this decision.
Many candidates alleged that they were deprived of the examination on the basis of minor delay. His question was that when some students could be given admission till the last moment, why other candidates did not get this opportunity.
During the uproar, there was an atmosphere of chaos outside the examination center for some time. Although the situation became normal later, there remains resentment among the students who were deprived of the examination. The candidates have demanded investigation and appropriate action from the concerned authorities regarding the matter.
