If you are preparing to become a government teacher in Uttar Pradesh, then this news is very important for you. Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission has released new rules for UP TET 2026 exam. After a long wait, the application process for this exam has started from today; However, this time some strict rules have been implemented which every candidate should be aware of.
What is the new rule?
This time the rule which is being discussed the most is related to marriage. The Commission has clearly stated that male candidates who have more than one wife alive will not be eligible to apply for this examination. Similarly, if a woman marries a man who already has a wife alive, she will also not be considered eligible for this test. Candidates practicing polygamy are completely barred from appearing in this examination. This rule applies equally to both male and female candidates.
Can there be any relaxation in this rule?
However, there is a slight relaxation in this strict rule. In certain cases, if special permission is obtained from the Governor, such a candidate may be allowed to apply. Nevertheless, generally there will be no relaxation in this rule.
Passing the exam does not guarantee a job.
The Commission has made it clear that UPTET is only a qualifying examination. Permission to appear for the examination—or issue of admit card—is not confirmation of final selection. Similarly, just passing the examination does not guarantee direct appointment to the post of government teacher. The final selection will be decided on the basis of respective recruitment process, scrutiny of documents and other fixed criteria.
Strict action against giving wrong information
If any candidate gives wrong or false information while filling the application form, strict action will be taken against him. In such cases, the candidate’s result may be cancelled, his/her TET certificate may be withdrawn, and if deemed necessary, legal action may also be initiated against him/her.
OMR sheet will not be re-checked
After examinations, many students often request re-checking of their answer sheets; However, this time the Commission has clearly stated that OMR sheets will not be re-checked. Since the answer sheets are checked with modern machines, the chances of mistakes are very less; Therefore, no provision for re-checking will be available.
When will the exam be conducted?
The exam is scheduled to be conducted on July 2, 3 and 4, 2026. Therefore, eligible candidates are advised to fill their application forms well in advance and not wait for the last date.
