Lalu’s daughter Rohini Acharya is searching for victory in the defeat of Mamata Banerjee and TMC in Bengal elections. Rohini has accused BJP of winning the elections by rigging it with the help of central agencies and the Election Commission.
Rohini Acharya, daughter of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, has started searching for victory in the crushing defeat of Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress (TMC) in the West Bengal elections. Rohini said that for those who are concerned and trying to save democracy from the clutches of fascists, this is not a defeat but a victory. He called Mamta the queen of Jhansi of today’s era and targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) saying that lakhs of people including the Prime Minister, dozens of Union Ministers, Chief Ministers, hundreds of MPs and MLAs were deployed against a single woman. Still, rigging had to be done to win the elections.
Rohini Acharya, who had contested the Lok Sabha elections from Saran seat in Bihar, alleged in a social media post that the BJP contested the Bengal elections with the help of central agencies, Election Commission, security forces and huge money. Still, manipulation and rigging had to be done to achieve victory.
On Mamata Banerjee’s defeat in Bengal, Rohini said, “This is not a defeat of the struggle but a victory of the fight fought to save democracy, a victory of every voice raised to save democracy and another lesson for how strongly one has to fight in the future.”
TMC out of power after 15 years
Let us tell you that Mamata Banerjee’s party TMC, which has been in power for the last one and a half decade, had to face a crushing defeat in the West Bengal Assembly elections. In Bengal, BJP has won with absolute majority for the first time. BJP won 206 seats. At the same time, the ruling TMC alliance had to be content with only 80 seats out of 294. For the first time in 15 years, Mamata has been out of power.
Mamata Banerjee herself lost her seat
Many TMC stalwarts had to face defeat in this election. Mamata Banerjee lost the election from Bhawanipur seat by a margin of more than 15 thousand votes. He was defeated by Subendu Adhikari of BJP. Subendu had defeated Mamta from Nandigram seat in the last elections also.
Lalu Yadav’s party RJD did not contest the West Bengal elections. However, leader of opposition unity, RJD working president Tejashwi Yadav had come to Bengal to campaign in support of Mamata Banerjee’s party. Tejashwi had campaigned in support of TMC on a dozen seats. He also campaigned in Mamata’s seat Bhawanipur, but could not make TMC win.
