Mamata Banerjee Press Conference: Trinamool Congress President Mamata Banerjee said in a press conference after the West Bengal Assembly election results that her party has not lost the elections but has been defeated. In Kolkata he said in Bengali, “We have not lost but we have been defeated.” He also said that this fight was not with BJP but with the Election Commission. Mamata Banerjee alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah together and using the Election Commission have defeated us in the elections.

Mamta alleged that the Election Commission is the biggest villain in this game, which worked unilaterally. He said that this is the black history of Bengal. Along with this, TMC Chief said that our fight will continue but he has not yet revealed his strategy.
Mamta Banerjee also alleged that an attempt has been made to surround and capture the TMC office. He also alleged assault at the counting center and said that he was not allowed to enter the counting centre. He said that he was even kicked on the back. Mamta claimed that this election result is not the real mandate of the people, but the result of a conspiracy.
She said in the press conference, “The question of my resignation does not arise because our defeat was not due to the people’s mandate but due to a conspiracy. … I have not lost, I will not go to Lok Bhawan. They can take action as per constitutional norms.” Banerjee alleged large-scale irregularities in the counting process, claiming that the mandate on nearly 100 seats was ‘robbed’ and counting was deliberately slowed down to demoralize her party. “A dark chapter has been added to history,” he said.
The Congress chief accused Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar of undermining the democratic rights of the people. Banerjee also announced the formation of a 10-member fact-finding committee to visit the areas affected by post-poll violence and assess the ground situation. He termed the allegations of violence after the elections in 2021 as baseless.
Banerjee said that after the election results, many leaders of ‘India’ alliance (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) of opposition parties contacted her and expressed solidarity. She said, “Leaders of ‘India’ alliance of opposition parties called me and expressed solidarity. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have also spoken to me. Banerjee said that now her focus will be on strengthening the opposition alliance at the national level. The BJP won 207 seats and secured a decisive majority in the 294-member assembly, ending Trinamool Congress’s 15-year rule in the state.
