Arijit Singh announces his retirement from the film music industry, says "I will not do playback singing anymore"

Popular Bollywood singer Arijit Singh won the hearts of his fans with his soulful voice and melodious songs like ‘Tum Hi Ho’, ‘Kesariya’. However, his fans were shocked when he announced that he would no longer be doing any new work as a playback singer, thus ending his “illustrious” journey.

In a message shared with his fans, Arijit expressed his gratitude for the love he has received over the years. He wrote on Instagram, “Hello, Happy New Year to all of you. I would like to thank you all for loving me so much all these years as listeners. I am happy to announce that from now on I will not be taking up any new assignments as a playback singer. I am saying goodbye to this profession. It has been a wonderful journey.”

Arijit is also a composer, music producer and instrumentalist. She started her career in 2005 by participating in the reality show ‘Fame Gurukul’. She made her debut in Hindi films in 2011 with the song ‘Phir Mohabbat’ (Murder 2). He gained widespread recognition in 2013 with the release of the song “Tum Hi Ho” from ‘Aashiqui 2’, for which he received his first Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer. Known for his mesmerizing voice, Singh’s songs touch the hearts of listeners of all ages.

The latest song ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ from Arijit’s film ‘Border 2’ touched the hearts of millions of people. The music of this new version of ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ has been composed by Mithun, while the original song was written by Anu Malik. The new lyrics have been written by Manoj Muntashir Shukla, while the original song was written by Javed Akhtar. Roopkumar Nigam, Arijit Singh, Vishal Mishra and Dilli Dosanjh have lent their voices in this song.
