Bison Kaalamaadan Movie Review: A brilliant Tamil film by director Mari Selvaraj. In which Dhruv Vikram is seen in the lead role. The film released on 17 October 2025 (Diwali) and has been in the news among the audience since day one. The film is not just on the game (Kabaddi). Rather, the fight for caste, society and human dignity has also been shown in depth.

Story

The story is of Kittan (Dhruv Vikram), who lives in Vanathi, a small village in Tamil Nadu. His dream is to become a big Kabaddi player, but caste discrimination and the walls of society repeatedly come in his way. There are two big factions in the village, Pandiaraja (Aamir) and Kanthasamy (Lal), whose mutual politics and hatred gets entangled in Kittan’s life. In the film, the bison skeleton is shown as a symbol that reminds Kitten of her identity, her pride, and her fight. The first part slowly sets up the village story and conflicts, while the second part becomes more emotional and intense.

artist and acting

Dhruv Vikram has acted brilliantly. He has put in a lot of hard work into the character, be it the excitement of the Kabaddi field or the painful scenes, he looks real everywhere. Pasupathy (Kittan’s father) has played a very emotional and powerful role. Whereas both Rajisha Vijayan (as sister) and Anupama Parameswaran (as Queen) have played their roles well. Although Anupama’s role feels a little small. Aamir, Lal and Kalaiyarasan in the supporting cast have made the film stronger.

Direction, Music and Technical Aspects

Director Mari Selvaraj has once again proved that he knows how to bring not just a story but the truth of society on screen.
The cinematography of the film is very beautiful, the scenes of soil, village, Kabaddi game and festivals look real. Of residence. Prasanna’s music is the soul of the film, especially the songs “Thekkoluthi” and “Rekka Rekka”. The length of the film is approximately 2 hours 50 minutes. That’s why it feels a little slow in the first half. But the second half captures the audience.
