Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan received the first national award for his brilliant performance in the film ‘Jawa’ on Friday. This achievement is a symbol of his more than three decades of long career. He will share the Best Actor Award with Vikrant Massey, who won the award for his role in the ’12th Fail’ directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
The names of the 71st National Film Award winners were announced at a press conference held at the National Media Center in New Delhi.
Fans have been joyful since Shah Rukh and Vikrant were elected the best actor for the National Film Award.
In January 2023, Shah Rukh returned to the big screen with YRF’s ‘Pathan’ after a 4 -year gap. The film made a splash at the box office and pulled a huge crowd of spectators.
After the blockbuster success of ‘Pathan’, Shah Rukh gave the fans another blockbuster ‘Jawan’, which gave him his first national award. Directed by Atley, ‘Jawan’ starred Shah Rukh with Nayantara, Deepika Padukone, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra and Riddhi Dogra.
Earlier, after the success of the jawan, the producers held a press conference in Mumbai, where Shah Rukh thanked the producers for his love for the film.
Shah Rukh shared, “This is a celebration. We rarely get a chance to live with a film for years. The manufacture of jawan has been going on for four years due to lack of Kovid and time. The film included many people, especially the people of the south who settled in Mumbai and have been living in Mumbai for the last four years and have been working day and night for this film, which is the most difficult work till now.”
‘Jawan’ was one of the highest grossing films of 2023. ’12 fail ‘was also released a month after the release of Jawan. Vikrant made everyone speechless with his versatile acting skills.
Based on Anurag Pathak’s book, ’12th fail’ is based on the life of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who has the distinction of becoming an IPS officer by defeating gross poverty. The film throws light on his journey and his wife, IRS officer Shraddha Joshi, in reaching this point of reaching this point.
The film emerged as a Word-of-Mouth Hit by the end of 2023, which earned around 60 crores worldwide, even at a time when medium budget films were not even getting released in theaters. Vikrant undoubtedly reached the heights of fame with ’12th fail’.
