Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut had made a comment on the ongoing hijab controversy in Karnataka, which caused a lot of uproar. Now he has reacted once again on this and has clearly said that schools should not promote any religious symbol.
Kangana Ranaut, who has an opinionated opinion on every issue, shared a photo of ‘Burka to Bikini’ in Iran in her social media post and wrote that if you have the courage, do not wear a burqa in Afghanistan. After which Shabana Azmi retaliated on this post of Kangana. He had asked if Kangana does not know that there is a difference between Afghanistan and India?
Now Kangana has responded to this. He has said that books and education of children are more important than hijab. Above the hijab is the book. The school has a dress code and everyone should follow it. When you go to school, it only means that we have to go there in uniform, so that every child is the same and there is no discrimination among them. Everyone should respect the school dress code. No religious icon should be promoted in the school. When a uniform is given, poor-rich, Hindu-Muslim all mix in it. Neither a dupatta nor a burqa can wear ‘Jai Mata Di’ in the school.
So while answering Shabana Azmi’s questions in a conversation with ABP News, Kangana Ranaut said, “There is a difference between India and Afghanistan. But she (Shabana Azmi) is trying to say that India is now a democratic country. But 70 80 years ago India was not democratic. And there is no guarantee that even after 70 years India will remain democratic. It has to be protected. Voice has to be raised for this.”
