Filmmaker Rima Das has been honored with the ‘Excellence in Directing’ award by New York Women in Film and Television (NYWIFT) for her film ‘Village Rockstars 2’.
New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT) is one of the most prestigious nonprofits in the U.S. entertainment industry, dedicated to supporting, encouraging and honoring women working in film, television and digital media, according to a release.
Eleven international filmmakers, including Das, were honored for their contribution to cinema.
The filmmaker said that this honor means a lot to him. Das said, “It is very important for me to receive this honor from New York Women in Film and Television for ‘Village Rockstars 2’. I don’t just consider it a personal honour, but see it as a way that India’s stories, told with honesty and life experiences, can transcend borders.
