New Delhi. Police is busy solving the mystery of the death of Assam singer Zubeen Garg. The SIT formed to investigate this case has today arrested two security officers of Zubeen, Nandeshwar Bora and Paresh Baishya. Both of them are accused of alleged transactions worth more than Rs 1 crore in the last four-five years. Out of this, details of transaction of Rs 70 lakh have been found from the bank account of Nandeshwar Bora and details of transaction of Rs 40 lakh have been found from the account of Paresh Baishya. After knowing about this, Assam Police had already suspended both of them.

Both the security officers will now be produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate. Earlier on Wednesday, SIT had also arrested Zubeen Garg’s cousin Sandipan Garg. Sandipan is a DSP in Assam Police. Zubeen Garg’s manager Siddharth Sharma, Shyamkanu Mahant, who organized the North-East India Festival in Singapore, two members of his band Shekhar Jyoti Goswami and singer Amritprabha Mahant have already been arrested. Before his arrest, Shekhar Jyoti Goswami had accused Siddharth Sharma and Shyamkanu Mahant of poisoning Zubeen.
Let us tell you that Zubeen died due to drowning in Singapore on 19 September 2025. Earlier it was being said that he suffered a head injury while scuba diving and due to this he died. Zubeen’s wife Garima Garg had raised the demand for investigation considering her husband’s death as suspicious. Taking this case seriously, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has constituted an independent judicial commission under the chairmanship of current Gauhati High Court judge Soumitra Saikia. Zubeen Garg’s death has left his loved ones in shock.
