New Delhi: Vidya Balan is ready for the release of her upcoming film ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’. These days the actress is busy promoting her upcoming movie and giving interviews. The actress recently told in an interview with The Indian Express how when it came to sharing screen space with her in which she is in the lead role, male actors did not show interest in working with her.
Vidya Balan: Why are female centric films more exciting than the films of male actors? Speaking on this he said, ‘I don’t think it would be right for him to act in Vidya Balan’s film or a women-oriented film even today. Honestly, it is their loss because we are doing better films than them. I really believe in him. They are doing more formula-based films, women-oriented films are much more exciting. Vidya further said, ‘Of course, people are appreciating, but male actors are uncomfortable with keeping women at the centre. I don’t think he would mind anyone stealing his thunder. But I never felt bad. I was like, if they are threatened, what can I do?
In her decades-long career, Vidya has done many female-centric films, which have achieved critical as well as commercial success. Some of those films include Ishqiya, No One Killed Jessica, The Dirty Picture, Kahaani, Tumhari Sulu, Sherni and Jalsa. Vidya also received the National Award for Best Actress for The Dirty Picture. She stars alongside Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz and Senthil Ramamurthy in Do Aur Do Pyaar. The film directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta revolves around marriage and extramarital affairs. This film will be released in theaters on April 19. Vidya will next be seen in Kartik Aryan-Tripti Dimri’s horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, directed by Anees Bazmee.
