Welcome to the Jungle Movie Review: Bollywood’s most loved and famous comedy franchise ‘Welcome’ has returned to theaters with its third installment ‘Welcome to the Jungle’. The story of this film, directed by Ahmed Khan, is quite unique and funny, which revolves around a corrupt businessman.
He prepares a strong plan to make a very poor and mega-flop film to convert his black money of Rs. 2000 crores into white. The responsibility of making this flop film goes to a flop actor Rajeev (Akshay Kumar) and his strange crew, who have no idea what big trouble they are going to get into.
The real twist in the story comes when the entire film crew reaches a remote real jungle to shoot a military based action movie. The dangerous terrorists hiding there mistake the actors who came to shoot this fake film as the real Indian Army.
After this, such a sequence of amazing confusion, action and no-logic comedy begins that the audience bursts into laughter. In the film, funny parody scenes and social media memes of many big films like ‘Sholay’, ‘Jawaan’ and ‘Mission Impossible’ have been used very strongly.
The biggest strength of the film is its huge army of star cast. Sunil Shetty and Arshad Warsi’s Jugalbandi with Akshay Kumar looks amazing on screen. Apart from this, whenever veterans like Johnny Lever, Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav come into the frame, they impress with their excellent comic timing.
However, the film has so many actors including Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez and Raveena Tandon that at times the screen feels crowded and some of the best actors get very little screen time.
Talking about some other weaknesses of the film, its runtime is about three and a quarter hours, which drags a bit, and the VFX used for the jungle scenes also looks quite fake. But leaving aside these technical shortcomings, the film completely lives up to its promise of entertainment.
If you are not looking for any deep logic or suspense in the film and are just in the mood to laugh mindlessly and pass the time with your family and friends, then ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ will prove to be a perfect and hard-hitting entertainer for you.0
