New Delhi. The Indian cricket team toured Zimbabwe with a team of youth after winning the ICC T20 World Cup trophy. Under the captaincy of Shubman Gill, India won the series 4-1. Now Team India can leave with its full strength team on the Sri Lanka tour. Team India’s new head coach Gautam Gambhir will be a part of the team selection for the first time. The selectors can announce the team for this tour today. Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav and Kuldeep Yadav may return. India will play 3 T20 and as many ODI matches in this series starting from July 27.

The selectors can announce the team today for the series to be played against Sri Lanka. The senior players of the T20 World Cup winning team were given rest in the Zimbabwe series. Some players may return in the series to be played with Sri Lanka. Hardik Pandya is set to be made the captain of the T20 team while Suryakumar Yadav will be the vice-captain. Shubman Gill was given the responsibility of captaincy against Zimbabwe.

Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav and Kuldeep Yadav, who were rested on the Zimbabwe tour, may return against Sri Lanka. Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammad Siraj are also considered certain to get a place in the team.
